Investment Committee

Pentacle has assembled an Investment Committee comprising experts in direct property investment and funds management. The role of the committee will be to ensure that the Funds’ objectives are being met through decisions involving but not limited to sector allocations, manager monitoring and selection and fund availability. This committee comprises:

Mr. Ken Atchison

Investment Committee member

Ken is a property asset consulting specialist and principal of Atchison Consultants, a firm which provides advice and analysis across all aspects of property investment portfolios by recognising the constantly evolving issues related to property investments. Ken has joined the Investment Committee to assist with investment strategy, manager selection, manager monitoring and client servicing. Ken has over 30 years' experience in the management of investment portfolios. In the past decade, he has focused on providing investment advice to funds, with special emphasis on property investment arrangements. For the six years prior to establishing Atchison Consultants, Ken was with Towers Perrin.

Mr. John Simkiss

Investment Committee member

John has joined the Investment Committee to provide industry specific knowledge and experience in investment strategy, investment research, manager selection and monitoring and portfolio construction. John is a consultant to the Telstra Super Fund providing strategy, portfolio structure, stock selection and trading decisions for the internal active listed property portfolio and stock and option advice on the internal active Australian equity portfolios. John was the inaugural investment manager of Telstra Super for 9 years until the end of 1999.

Mr. Arthur Apted

Investment Committee member

Arthur has extensive experience in establishing and managing direct property investment funds for both wholesale and retail investors. He played a key role in establishing ISPT and was its CEO for ten years until he resigned at the end of 2004. ISPT grew to $3 billion of diversified property investments, and consistently delivered top quartile investment returns. In 2005 and 2006, he was CEO of Becton Investment Management, which targeted retail investors through financial planners, dealer groups and platforms. He is now working on establishing his own funds management business, investing in the rural sector. Other directorships have included Australian Defence Industries, the Victorian Gaming Commission, Members Equity (and its predecessor, Superannuation Members Home Loans), and Industry Fund Services.
